After many years with this destination in mind, we have finally been able to make a hole in the calendar to get to know one of the areas of France that we most wanted: Loire Valley in 9 days.
Access to Loire Valley You can do it in several ways, being the most common flying to Nantes or Paris, depending on the area or preferences you have and then renting a car or according to your origin, traveling there by car.
There is also the possibility of moving around the Loire Valley by public transport, either by bus or by train, with which you can reach Angers, Blois, Tours, Amboise or Orléans, and from there go visiting the main Loire Castles.
According to our experience, after the preparations for this trip, this way is much slower and more comfortable, since it is not always easy to reach the most tourist points, that is why we recommend you, whenever possible, choose to move around the Loire Valley by car.

One of the questions that you will surely ask yourself when planning a trip through this area of France is how many castles exist or how many of them can or should be visited. We have to take into account that in this area there are 70 castles, of which 20 are the most visited and from which we believe, you should leave for a first visit to the area. Loire Valley
Although a route through the Loire Valley can be as wide as you want, to visit its most tourist spots, having 7-10 days will allow you to access the most recommended and emblematic castles and villages of this area of the country.
We could say, without fear of being wrong, that any time of the year is good to visit the Loire Valley, but it is also true that we must take into account variants such as temperatures, rain and also the high season months.
In very general lines we should avoid the colder winter months and opt for spring and autumn, in which the weather is usually more benign, less hot than the summer months, but avoiding the high season and therefore the possible overcrowding of the most tourist places and the highest prices.
In summary the best time to visit the Loire Valley It would be between April and June and between September and October.
