Traveling without worrying about anything, in a comfortable and relaxed way, is one of the great advantages of to travel on a cruiser. We must also take into account this option for its economic cost, if we count the places we will visit, food, travel, activities, wake up every day with sea views and enjoy incredible sunsets, we will verify that they are not as expensive as It may seem initially.
Options we have hundreds, from the typical Mediterranean or Caribbean cruise to more exotic cruises such as Alaska, Japan, Madagascar or other places in the world. For us, this travel option has come into force this year, so we already plan to do one and after reviewing several, we have prepared a list of the 5 cruises to do once in a lifetime:

1. Mediterranean cruise

The Mediterranean cruise, the option par excellence, is the one that is closer to home and that many of our friends have given us more information. These types of cruises generally last between one week and 10 days. We are especially struck by two: the cruise that begins in Barcelona and after stopping in the Balearic Islands, has stops in countries like France, stopping in Marseille or Cannes, Malta or Italy, entering cities like Rome, Naples, Palermo ... and, of course, the option of a Greek Islands cruise. This last cruise can start in Venice, taking the opportunity to stop in some places in Croatia such as Dubrovnik or leave from Athens and can spend more time on the islands and less on sailing. Some of the Greek islands that we have listed on the list and where these cruise ships stop are: Mykonos, Santorini or Rhodes, three of which we believe are unmissable.

2. Caribbean cruise

When you hear the word Caribbean, exotic images of beaches with crystal clear waters or hammock surrounded by mojito or a pina colada come to mind. To enjoy places like The Bahamas, Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands, Mexico, Honduras, Belize or Panama among others, place it among the best cruises to do once in a lifetime. Among the many itineraries that you can do, there are two that we have marked in favorites: the one that leaves from Miami and you can go to Jamaica, The Bahamas, Puerto Rico or Cuba, depending on the time you have or the one that leaves Havana and It travels through some of the best areas of the Caribbean, passing through Belize, Honduras and the Costa Maya of Mexico.

3. Cruise through Northern Europe, one of the cruises to do once in a lifetime

One of the trips that have always caught our attention is that of a Norwegian Fjord cruise. If you have about 10 days you can make a cruise leaving Southampton, near London and tour the Norwegian coast knowing places like Stavanger, NordFjord, Innvikfjorden, Olden, Flaam, Aurlandsfjorden, Sognefjord and Bergen. What stands out most about this cruise is the fjord landscapes, narrow sea inlets that are formed by the flooding of a valley and that in the western part of Norway are spectacular. Another one that seems more interesting is the Baltic Capitals Cruise. Leaving and arriving in Copenhagen we can know some of the most beautiful cities in Europe like Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Stockholm or Copenhagen itself.

4. River cruise

A river cruise unlike the sea allows you to contemplate more time the diversity of the landscape, the navigation is not so long and is quieter than in the open sea. In addition you can have a better attention of the staff since the boat is smaller, there are fewer people, in addition to more time at the stops. On our trip to Austria, where we made the Danube Valley area, we saw some of these cruises and it is one of the places we would return to without thinking to see it from this other perspective. These Danube cruises They leave Vienna and allow you to enjoy places like Melk, Dürnstein, Bratislava, Kalocsa, Budapest, Ezstergom before returning to Vienna. The Rhin is another of the great navigable rivers that we can cross in cruise and visit cities like Amsterdam, Cologne, Koblenz, Heidelberg, Strasbourg or Basel.

5. Cruises around the world

If you have more days, between 15 and 20, and you are a cruise ship lover, you can think of a more original or exotic one. A cruise through India, Madagascar, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Australia, Alaska, New Zealand or Japan will surely surprise you. One of the ones that has caught our attention is the Alaska cruise from Vancouver, in which you make a panoramic circular cruise through the Interior Pass, where you can enjoy incredible landscapes such as glaciers and fjords, even animals like bears and whales. Another one that we have marked in red is the one that leaves Port Louis in Mauritius and goes to the Seychelles and Madagascar, three of the places we have on our list of pending destinations. Difficult decision, right?
