Kuala Lumpur is one of those places that we never tire of visiting again and again. The main reason is because it is the AirAsia hub, although we are not really those travelers fleeing the Malaysian capital, on the contrary, we always find an excuse to return. For us, Kuala Lumpur offers a few things to do, beyond the Petronas Towers. Vaaaaale, we recognize it, we won because here you eat great! This is what this article is about: we are going to recommend a few markets and restaurants where to eat in Kuala Lumpur. Because you already know what to eat in Malaysia, right?

These are our favorite sites:

It is the reason we are writing this post. We recently went to eat and left full of gastronomic love. It is a restaurant with Indian specialties, site as simple as delicious (you're going to suck your mustache). Pillamos paper dosa, a kind of crispy Indian crepe served with dhal (lentil curry) and mint / coriander sauce, tandori chicken and butter chicken. Everything, everything, everything, was great. And the bill (with 1 lemonade and 3 teh tarik) amounted to about € 7 in total * _ *

Don't you know what is the teh tarik? Sacrilege! It's Malaysian tea that they prepare with milk and ... condensed milk. Great!

Is a Taiwanese chain with restaurants in various parts of the world and, some of them with Michelin star! Then, it will cost a paste, you will say. Well, no, the prices are quite cheap for a restaurant in its category, in the end you will pay about € 10-15 per person. His specialty is the dumplings (although there are also noodle and rice dishes) but believe us, it is best to get crammed with those "Chinese ravioli" since they are dead. There are several located in different places in Kuala Lumpur, you can try the Pavilion Mall, one of the most prestigious in the city.

We discovered this site in 2011, when we first stepped on Kuala Lumpur and since then, every time we return to the city, it is one of the mandatory stops. It's not really a restaurant, it's rather a mini food court since in the same space there are about 5 different stands, each with its own Malaysian specialty. Ask for what you ask for (rice / noodles / soups) will be good and the local atmosphere is a hoot. Also it's very cheap. It is located a few meters from the famous Petaling Street (Chinatown) and prices are around 8RM (about € 2).

138, Jalan Tun H S Lee, City Center

Okay, it's a street, not a restaurant. But we assure you that here you will live one of the Malaysia's best dining experiences and its environment ... is incomparable! Throughout this alley you will find dozens and dozens of restaurants with their squeaky colored chairs and even more squeaky vendors who will try to sell their best dishes. Open only for dinner time and we will not recommend any specific place or dish, just walk around and let yourself go.

Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang

Man, since you're in front of the Petronas… you're going to stay out, aren't you? In the shopping center under the towers (the Suria KLCC) there are two food courts, we recommend you visit the one on floor 2. There you look for the post “chicken rice”(They did not have much fantasy when it came to putting the name), we assure you that this dish of chicken and rice is very rich and cheap (€ 2 approx). They serve it with a very tasty hot soup. And if it's not your favorite, you can always look for your dish among the rest of the restaurants.

Let's see, the truth is that the best dessert in Kuala Lumpur is the roti boom of any neighborhood kopitiam, peeeeero, if for any reason (sugar drop or vice of good) you need to get a piece of cake... this chain is a success! Our favorite cake is the chocolate indulgence, the name is your best presentation. There are many offers, so first check out their website.

Also, do not leave Kuala Lumpur without having stung something in the chinatown markets or of Little india, without having eaten a teh tarik with roti in the kopitiam (neighborhood cafes) and without having tried one of the most curious desserts in all of Malaysia: cendul.

One more tip: do not miss a walk in the Imbi Market, is one of the most colorful and authentic places in Kuala Lumpur. And Indian food is delicious!

These are our recommendations of places to eat in Kuala Lumpur. Have you tried any? What is your favorite?
