The days of the roadtrip are over, they have been 14 days touring the West Coast of the United States, passing through incredible places, until our last stage, which takes us from Monterrey to San Francisco airport, from where our flight to Miami leaves.
A short stage of 115 miles that, however, we enjoyed as if it were the first day, crossing a part of Highway 1 along the Pacific Coast and passing through lively towns and beaches the sea of lively. So it was and today we tell you 🙂

- Stops on the road: He goes on the Higway 1 that runs through part of the Big Sur of California. You can make different stops on the beaches and cliffs that you leave on the left, or small towns. We stop at some of them, inPigeon Point Lighthouse, before we stopped to eat a piece of barbecue inHighway 1 Brewing Company and on the beach ofSurfers beach in Granada because a few whales were greeting the surfers.
Our flight departed at 11 pm so we had practically all day to enjoy a quiet ride along the Pacific Coast. We leave Monterrey to the north along the Bay of Monterrey and continue on the HW1 towards San Francisco. This is the map of the route:
It is one of those routes where it is not necessary to prepare the stops, but it is best to let yourself go along the road quietly and stop where your senses dictate. In this way we made some stops at viewpoints, beaches, villages, lighthouses and some other cafeteria, where we began to realize that in a few days we were going to leave this country that, strangely, has fascinated us.
And one of the reasons we will miss the United States (of course) is the barbecue! As if it were a gift from destiny, when lunchtime was approaching we saw a sign on our right announcing a joint where they prepare authentic american barbecue! It is not a bad place to spend our last meal on the west coast. The site is calledHighway 1 Brewing Company and, in addition to barbecue meat, mac & chees and corn bread, they make their own craft beer.
With the triponcios well filled, we went out on the road but it didn't take us long to make another stop, the stage deserves it. On the coast a lighthouse rises in an impressive environment. Is hePigeon Point Lighthouse, and it is not a bad place to do digestion. That if not for the cars that stopped making their tricks in the purest Breaking Bad style.
The afternoon is over and the time we have left in the Pacific Coast comes to an end, but the ocean has prepared a surprise ... As we travel the town of The grenade We see how cars stop at the sides of the road, people watching towards the water where some surfers take advantage of the good weather to get their boards. But what attracts attention is not them, but the group of whales They have come to greet us! How will they have found out? Do they follow our Instagram Stories? Be that as it may, they were raising their queues, "good trip to you too!"
We arrived at the San Francisco airport after traveling 3,637 miles (almost 6,000 km), left 4 and returned two. Two that go to Miami!
