Where to sleep in Paris

We cannot deny that accommodation in Paris is quite expensive, so a good option is to look for a hotel a little away from the center but that is close to a metro station that allows you to easily access almost all the important sites of the city . Based on our experience we recommend the two hotels we have stayed in during our trips to Paris.

  • Etoile Pereire, located 10 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe and with a metro station nearby. This hotel is very good value for money, plus free wifi, good breakfast and very friendly staff.
  • The Hotel de Nell is a 15 minute walk from the Louvre Museum and although its price is higher than the Etoile Pereire, its location and quality is better, so if it fits you in the budget, it can be a perfect option.

If you want to save a little, a good option to eat cheap are the Brioche Dorée, a fast food chain that has many centers distributed throughout the city as well as asking for "join garafe d'eau"instead of water, taking advantage of the fact that the water in Paris is very good and thus save money on drinks.

After lunch, if you go well on time we recommend a walking itinerary starting in the gardens of the Royal Palace, from where you can cross two magnificent typical French galleries, such as Galerie Vivienne and Passage des Panoramas.

Passage des Panoramas

The next stop of the day will be the luxurious Plaza Vendôme square, one of the most beautiful squares in Paris, which stands out for its large column in the center. The route of Paris in 2 days continue taking the subway to the Abesses stop, in the Montmartre district. Before entering one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of the city, do not forget to go to the right when you leave the subway stop, where you will find a small park in which is the Wall of Love or the Wall Je T'aime.
To get to the upper part of the neighborhood you can take the funicular or walk up the stairs, depending on your mood or your body. The two options will leave you near the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, one of the most visited places in Paris and an incredible viewpoint to the city.

The Sacred Heart Basilica

The Montmartre neighborhood is our favorite in Paris, its bohemian air still reminds a little of its golden years, when painters such as Picasso or Van Gogh lived. To get to know the neighborhood we recommend walking aimlessly through its alleys until you find the Place du Tertre, full of artists painting and selling their paintings. A good option to learn more about its history and curiosities is to book this guided tour of the neighborhood that ends in front of the well-known Moulin Rouge and this guided tour of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, both with a guide in Spanish.

Montmartre neighborhood, one of the best places to visit in Paris

The only disappointing thing for us from the upper part of Montmartre, is the poor quality of its restaurants, so if your visit coincides with the time of dinner, we recommend looking for a restaurant in the lively Rue des Abbesses.
Another alternative to end the night with an unforgettable experience and take the best memory of Paris, is to book a dinner at the fantastic restaurant of the Eiffel Tower, Le 58 Tour Eiffel. This romantic dinner can be linked later with a cruise for dinner at night and watching a show at the Moulin Rouge, the most famous cabaret in the world.
